Belo Horizonte, which means 'beautiful horizon', is the home of the Estádio Mineirão. Its metal working and textile industries make Belo Horizonte an important economic centre but the city is also well known for its culture.
The Mineirão stadium is located next to the Pampulha lake and can accommodate 66,805 spectators.
It was built in 1965 and modernised in 2012. One of the modernisation measures was extending the roof such that all seats would be covered.
